Boğaziçi’s Institute of Biomedical Engineering joins an international team of universities, research institutions, and non-academic organizations in Europe and the United States to develop brain-inspired technological solutions for autonomous robotic mobility.  Experts from multiple research disciplines, including behavioral science, computational neuroscience, and robotics will analyze navigational behavior, visualize how the brain decodes sensorimotor contingencies and generates action, describe the principles of neural information processing during navigation, and translate these insights into algorithms for the control of intelligent machines and implement them in robotic devices.  This project with acronym ‘iNavigate’ was funded within H2020-MSCA-RISE-2019 in the amount of 1,932,000.00 €.  It will enable researchers and innovation staff at all career levels, from the most junior (post-graduate) to the most senior (management), to visit and host partners from the consortium for the purpose of research, innovation, networking, and skill and career development.  The participating organizations include Radboud University (Coordinator of the proposal: T. Çelikel), Max-Planck-Society, BMW, French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), University College London, and many more (see list appended).
